Join Us For A Night Of Fun & Fundraising!
Swing Shift and the Stars 2019
AS WE DANCE TO SHATTER STATISTICS.

We would love to invite you to join us on Friday, September 20th as Single MOMM and five other local charities dance off or Friday, November 15th as the same six charities take the stage in a lip synch competition.

Currently Single MOMM reaches over 600 families a year, however, there are over 1,500 families in need of our services. Join us in expanding our Event Nights, Mentorship 360 Program, reVIVE Course, No More Crazy legal organizer, and residential opportunities. Our goal is to raise $72,000 through Swingshift and The Stars and reach 1,500 single mom families in need.

HOW TO #INPOWERHER:

#INPOWERHER is an invitation to join us in helping single moms rise-up from within and overcome. Swingshift and the Stars is a fundraising platform. Each participating charity decides how to raise their funds. At Single MOMM, we are focused on ticket purchases, table sponsorships, and general donations to help #INPOWERHER.

1. Purchase Tickets by calling our office 231.944.1710 - general admission balcony seats are $150 each or $300 a pair - $300 puts a single mom through The reVIVE Course.

2. Sponsor a Table for the best seats in the house. For more information contact Chelsea Boeve at chelsea@singlemomm.org

3. Give a general donation through online giving by clicking the “buy tickets” button above or donate the night of the event. Every donation given goes towards our goal of reach 1500 women.

“I hated the word, ‘home’. My daughter and I had lived displaced for years. We lived first in the basement of my parents’ house, eventually graduated to a small apartment, and then had to move out of the apartment because I began earning ‘too much’ money. I worked hard at my job and gotten a small raise. That raise put me over the limit of receiving financial assistance. I lost my subsidized housing, some of my medical help, and all of my food assistance. I wanted to come off of assistance, but not like this. I wondered if all this work was worth it. At Single MOMM I learned more about finances, how to overcome the gap of coming off of assistance, what financial moves would benefit my family, and how to keep moving forward. The plan we laid out took me months to execute. but it finally paid off, I am now a homeowner and my daughter is growing up in a strong home!”

The reVIVE Course is a 13-week small group experience that assists single moms in exploring who they are, what has gotten them stuck, and how to take courageous steps forward.

Women from every walk of life have learned to chart bold and new directions for themselves and their families through reVIVE. In the presence of a small community of other single moms each woman will gain insight from exploring her story and the stories of others.

The course consists of learning the importance of personal awareness and how to set healthy boundaries, identifying talents, passions, thinking styles, and personal values, understanding the importance of forgiveness, learning how to establish healthy relationships, and addressing finances, time management, and strategic decision making. The course is facilitated by alumni, women that have successfully graduated the course and are now giving back to help other single moms rise-up.

Mentoring 360 meets a single mom as she is and embraces her as a whole person. We believe mentorship starts with building trust. Walking into a safe, consistent, and inviting place is where every session starts.

Addressing the whole person begins with listening to a single mom's unique story. As we listen we celebrate a woman's personal successes, help identify patterns that have them stuck, help identify their strengths and talents, and help guide them towards healthy independence.

Topics addressed include vocational skills, creating personal growth goals, financial wellness, parenting, healthy relationship tools, trauma care, co-parenting, and a range of life skills. Women from all walks of life engage in mentorship. Our faith based method has a proven success record with hundreds of women reaching healthy independence and positively changing the trajectory of their children's lives.

Event Nights are a place where overwhelmed, tired, and alone does not exist Event Nights are designed to create a safe space where single moms can connect with each other, take a break from every-day life, be encouraged, enjoy a meal together, and have an opportunity to explore the other offerings of Single MOMM.

While at an Event Night their kids are embraced by a team of community volunteers that throw a pizza party, play games, and provide a message of encouragement. The goal is that every family walks away knowing that they are supported and loved.

Currently Event Nights are held the second Saturday of the month in the Grand Traverse area and the third Saturday of the month in the Wexford/Missaukee county area (events are held September-May). Over 500 plus volunteers make our Event Nights a success each year.
