What is Single MOMM?

What started in 2008 as a mom-to-mom experience has now grown into a ministry that addresses the core issues of single motherhood and provides innovative and diverse solutions for families desiring to reach self-sufficiency.

Single MOMM continues to be recognized a national expert in the fields of family life and the dynamics of single motherhood. We have created a replicable model that demonstrates how providing a safe atmosphere of trust, respect, and kindness leads the way to engaging the personal stories of every single mom - helping them walk through personal barriers and the effects of trauma and resulting in their ability to integrate back into everyday life with purpose and strength.

We work with women who never married, are divorced or widowed, single moms from all economic and social classes, and single moms who want to move forward.

Single MOMM seeks to establish a culture of kindness, dignity, respect, and honor to all individuals and their stories. Imagine sitting in your favorite coffee shop and feeling so much warmth, belonging, and peace. In everything we do we seek to be the good coffee to others.

Single MOMM believes in presenting our genuine selves to others, operating in humility, and embracing an error friendly environment. Like the Velveteen Rabbit we seek to be real.

When climbing a mountain the switchbacks are there to guide, regulate pace, and help ensure you make it to the top. MENTORSHIP 360™

At Single MOMM no one walks alone. Our innovative Mentorship 360 program is based on peer-to-peer relationships designed to support a mom in all aspects of parenting, finances, practical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Women are empowered to recognize, plan, and achieve what currently seems unimaginable. Doing life together within a healthy community makes all the difference for our moms.

THE REVIVE COURSE™
The inpowered course™

We have 2 foundational programs for single moms ready to strengthen their families and live courageously. The reVIVE course and INpower course are taken within a small group setting that is facilitated by a single mom alumni. Over many intense weeks the women are guided to engage in their personal stories, seek to regain what was lost, and continue life with resilience. Our moms embrace and challenge one another, and learn to rise-up together.

EVENT NIGHTS

Held four times a year, Event Nights are a place where overwhelmed, tired, and alone does not exist. Event Nights are designed to create a fun and safe space where single moms can take a break from everyday life, connect with each other, be encouraged, enjoy a meal together, and explore the offerings at Single MOMM. Childcare is provided.

NO MORE CRAZY PROCESS™

This legal organizational tool is designed for women going through a contested custody dispute or divorce. When trauma has been present recalling the details of a situation can be fragmented and hard to follow. This tool helps women organize their stories, concerns, proofs, and thoughts in a way the courts can understand. Single MOMM does not give legal advice but rather helps organize details to be presented to an attorney. Over the years this tool has been used in sex tracking cases, child abuse cases, and domestic violence cases.

A.R.R.I.S.E.™

We all need a safe place to call home. Single MOMM’s custom A.R.R.I.S.E. program secures a family in their current housing with significant financial support or provides a new residence for a mom and her children. A.R.R.I.S.E. (A Restorative Residence for Independence and Self-Empowerment) is designed for the woman who has goals to save money toward her own home, continue her education or gain vocational skills, or recover from economic devastation.

ACQUIRE classes

Single MOMM offers Acquire classes, specialized by topic to educate moms in a variety of areas. Women can gain information on budgets and finances, parenting topics, spiritual matters, insurance, healthy menu planning, legal matters, and self-empowerment. Led by local professionals or our staff, moms experience a safe and comfortable environment where all questions are welcomed.

Jennifer Finnegan Pool, is the founder and executive director of Single MOMM in Traverse City, Michigan.

Jennifer Finnegan Pool is an innovative humanitarian, a value driven entrepreneur, and a social reformer. Her faith, authentic story of resilience, and nontraditional academic experiences have led her to a career in growing healthy communities one family at a time. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Single MOMM, headquartered in Traverse City, MI. Started as a grassroots nonprofit in 2008, Single MOMM now serves over 2,000 families a year throughout Northern Michigan. In 2019, she was recognized as a national expert in her field.
