Don't Read Book Club:

How to Stop the Pain
by Dr. James B. Richards
We all experience pain! You’ve been wounded and you just can’t seem to heal. You try to get on with your life, but you just can’t seem to move on. You forgive, but you can’t forget! The pain you try to bury cripples your relationships with people, God, even life itself. It destroys your ability to pursue your dreams.
How to Stop the Pain will free you from the forces that would turn you into a victim. It offers a step-by-step process that will liberate you from the pain of the past and protect you from the pain of the future.
• Break the secret link to the pain of the past
• Identify the number one source of suffering
• Never be hurt by another insult
• Free yourself from the need to judge others
• Experience freedom from criticism
• Learn the only biblical way to prevent pain
Julie Elliott-Eickenroth serves on the board of Single Momm and was herself a single mom for six years. She is currently co-facilitating the “Moms and Horses” summer equine program for SMM at PEACE Ranch, and is enrolled in her bachelor’s program in Family Life Education at Spring Arbor University. She plans to go on to get her master’s in counseling, and hopes to continue her education and work in equine assisted therapy and education with PEACE Ranch.
She also loves one on one mentoring, leading intentional growth groups, and facilitating book studies.

Of the book, How to Stop the Pain, Julie says:
“For many years, from my teens till my early thirties, I suffered from severe suicidal depression, but eventually, by the grace of God, found help to overcome my lifelong pain. This book changed my life, literally. I call it a “bombshell book” -- one of those life-changing, perspective-wrecking books that will rock your world! I know it rocked mine! Can’t wait to share it with you all at the Don’t Read Book Club in July. See you there!”
Childcare is provided at Faith Reformed Church on the corner of Garfield and Munson Ave.
